Space Coast living, October 2026

Halloween Events in Melbourne, FL & Across Brevard County

Trunk-or-treats, trick-or-treating at the zoo, a haunted jail trail, tiki costume parties and a few genuinely scary nights out. Here is where to celebrate spooky season on the Space Coast this year.

Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, which means Brevard County gets a full week of celebrations leading up to it. From Viera to Palm Bay and out to Cocoa Beach, local parks, shops, restaurants and nonprofits are putting on events for every kind of Halloween fan, whether you are carrying a candy bucket, walking a dog in a costume, or looking for a grown-up night out.

I help buyers and sellers across Melbourne and the Space Coast, and one of my favorite parts of the job is sharing what makes living here fun. Bookmark this guide, and always double-check the organizer's page before you head out, since times and details can change.

Tips for Halloween on the Space Coast

  • Plan for the heat. Late October afternoons in Melbourne can still feel like summer. Choose breathable costumes, pack water, and consider indoor or evening events for younger kids.
  • Bring a reusable bag. Brevard Zoo specifically asks trick-or-treaters to bring one, and it holds up better than a plastic pumpkin at a big trunk-or-treat.
  • Check before you go. Florida weather can reschedule outdoor events on short notice, so confirm times on the organizer's page the day of.
  • Watch for age limits. Several nighttime events are 18+ or 21+, so read the listing before buying tickets for the whole group.
  • Make it a weekend. With Halloween on a Saturday, you can pair a daytime trunk-or-treat with an evening party in Cocoa Beach or Eau Gallie.
